Abstract

PURPOSE: A system for providing electronics program guide is provided to continuously offer program information about broadcasting channels to viewers. CONSTITUTION: An electronics program guide providing system includes a plurality of system operator EPG stations(200) connected with at least EPG information provider server(100) through a network. The EPG information provider server transmits motion picture files generated by encoding video signals, additional information files generated using text and graphic information inputted by a manage as a source, and EPG including at least broadcasting program information by channels and broadcasting time information to a designated EPG station. The server transmits a scheduling table where selected files and transmission time of the EPG information are programmed as EPG information together with the files and EPG information. Each EPG station receives and stores the EPG information, loads the stored EPG information to read a corresponding motion picture file, additional information file and EPG information at the time designated by the scheduling table, and transmits the files and information to a broadcast transmission system.
