Description

High brightness cathode ray tube

The present invention relates to a high-brightness cathode ray tube, and more particularly, to a cathode ray tube having good contrast characteristics and particularly excellent luminance characteristics.

Generally, the cathode ray tube 1 is a transparent window, as shown in FIG. 1, of a panel 2 having a screen surface 2a for reproducing an image upon reproduction of a screen, and a predetermined pattern formed on an inner surface of the screen surface. A funnel having a fluorescent film 3, a shadow mask frame assembly 5 installed inside the panel 2, the panel 2 being sealed to form an outer container of a cathode ray tube, and an electron gun 4 installed at the neck portion. (6) and a deflection yoke 8 provided in the cone portion 6a of this funnel.

The cathode ray tube configured as described above is selectively deflected by the deflection yoke 8 according to the dice by the deflection yoke 8 to be scanned into the fluorescent film 3 to excite each phosphor to form an image. . The viewer who views the image thus formed may say that the viewer views the screen formed by the light emission of the fluorescent film formed on the inner surface of the panel.

However, since the outer surface of the panel on which the image is reproduced is generally a smooth glass surface, since the light incident from the surroundings is specularly reflected, the phenomenon that the brightness of the screen formed by the emission of the fluorescent film is relatively lowered appears. That is, when external light is incident on the outer surface of the panel, afterimages are generated on the outer surface of the panel by the external light, so that the reproduced screen and the afterimage overlap and the luminance is lowered.

Conventionally, a semi-tint manufactured by Samsung Corning Co., Ltd. was used as a panel of a cathode ray tube. The panel has a transmittance of 53% and is made of glass. In the case of the cathode ray tube employing this panel, the contrast of the screen is good but the luminance is lowered.

In the present invention to solve the above problems, the transmittance is 85 to 95%, the outer surface of the panel of silicon dioxide material is coated with a black coating composition, a cathode film characterized in that it employs a fluorescent film formed of a carbon-coated fluorescent agent A tube is provided.

The black coating composition is an alkyl silicate (Si (OR) 4 , where R is an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms) 28 to 40% by weight, 0.1 to 0.5% by weight of black dye, 10 to 20% by weight of the metal particles Amount of solvent.

The black dye includes black X51 (BASF, Germany) and the like, and the metal fine particles are selected from antimony, tin and oxides thereof. Of these, tin oxide is particularly preferable.

The solvent usable in the present invention is at least one selected from the group consisting of isopropyl alcohol, methanol, ethanol, butanol and pure water.

In the present invention, as a cathode ray tube panel, Samsung Corning Co., Ltd. (CLEAR) is used as a panel, which has a higher transmittance compared to the conventional semi-tint panel to improve the brightness, the outer surface of the panel is coated with black and carbon By using the coated phosphor, it is possible to prevent a decrease in reflectance of the fluorescent film itself formed on the panel and to improve contrast.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to Examples, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

(Example)

Aging coating composition containing 15% by weight of ethyl silicate, 1% by weight of black X51 as a black dye, 10% by weight of tin oxide with antimony and a mixed solvent of methanol, isopropyl alcohol and butanol was added thereto. It was spray coated onto the cleaned clear panel outer surface.

After manufacturing a carbon-coated phosphor by a conventional method, it was applied to the inner surface of the cathode ray tube panel, exposed only a predetermined portion through a shadow mask, and then washed to develop a non-exposed portion to form a striped or dot-shaped fluorescent film. , A cathode ray tube was manufactured according to a general method.

1)(Comparative Example 1)

The same procedure as in Example was carried out except that phosphors not coated with carbon were used.

2)(Comparative Example 2)

The same procedure as in Example was conducted except that semitint was used as the panel of the cathode ray tube.

Color coordinates and luminance were measured using the cathode ray tubes manufactured in the above Examples and Comparative Examples.

(표 1)Table 1

From Table 1, it can be seen that the color coordinates are wider than in the case of Comparative Example 1-2, and the contrast is improved. In addition, it can be seen that the luminance is also improved in the case of green (G), blue (B) and red (R).

According to the present invention, a cathode ray tube with improved contrast and brightness can be manufactured by coating a black outer surface of a panel having high transmittance and employing a fluorescent film formed of a carbon coated phosphor.
