Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for automatically checking a prohibited PLMN(Public Land Mobile Network) in a digital cellular phone is provided to maintain an optimum prohibited PLMN by checking the prohibited PLMN list in an automatic mode. CONSTITUTION: An MS(Mobile Station) is turned on in an automatic mode, and it is judged whether it is possible to register prohibited PLMNs. If it is possible to register prohibited PLMNs, it is repeatedly judged whether the registration of an optimum PLMN succeeds in a usable PLMN list. If the registration of the optimum PLMN succeeds in the usable PLMN list, the PLMN is registered.
