Abstract

PURPOSE: An apparatus for self diagnosis of a microwave oven is provided to warn a user of disorder of a high frequency generating device by installing a high frequency sensor in a cavity. CONSTITUTION: A self-diagnostic apparatus includes a microcomputer(10) performing actions related with general control of a microwave oven system, a power source(1) supplying power to the microcomputer and respective driving units, a function setting unit(2) for setting up cooking time and pattern, a magnetron driving unit(3) generating high frequency during cooking, a high frequency sensor(4) detecting high frequency irradiated into a cavity, a display unit(5) outputting cooking time and pattern and a disorder mode, and a warning unit(6) generating a warning sound via a buzzer(7). With the high frequency sensor in the cavity, generation of high frequency is measured accurately. The microcomputer performs cooking by oscillating high frequency from the magnetron depending on output level and driving time of the magnetron and decides irradiation of high frequency via the high frequency sensor. If high frequency is not irradiated, action for warning is performed via the display unit and the warning unit.
