Abstract

PURPOSE: A protective circuit for lithium ion secondary battery is provided to protect the entire circuits of the lithium battery from over-current state by only changing final output switching elements and voltage detection elements without detecting for every batteries independent to their constructions. CONSTITUTION: The protective circuit for lithium ion secondary battery is operated by a switching element(18) for controlling over-discharging and is "on" state when a combined potential of cells(26)(28) above a potential set by a detecting element diode(14) is detected between (+) and (-), and (+) bias is applied to a final discharging switching element(18); and, on the contrary, if the combined potential of cells(26)(28) is detected as the potential set by the diode(14), another switching element(24) is "off" state and consequently, the final element(18) becomes "off" to block the introduction of current between both terminal loads (+) and (-).
