Claims

A method for synchronizing local and remote displays of the same display content using a processing device, the method comprising:
searching for the presence on the processing device of an application having remote sharing capabilities; and/or determining whether the same application or another application having remote sharing capabilities is active on the processing device;
determining a sharing state of the application having remote sharing functionality;
determining whether the application having remote sharing functionality is sharing content with a local display screen or a remote participant;
The method further includes:
a) determining that content is being shared on said local display screen, but that there is no content being shared with said remote participant, or that what is being shared with said remote participant is different from what is being shared locally; if the content has been shared locally but not remotely, or that different content has been shared; or
b) If content is detected to be shared locally but not remotely, or what is shared with said remote participant is detected as different from what is shared locally. the application having remote sharing functionality remotely shares the same content that is shared locally, or
c) if content is being shared remotely, determining whether the same content being transferred to the remote participant is also being shared on the local display screen;

c1) if the content being transferred and shared to a remote participant is not shared on the local display screen, sharing the same content that is shared remotely on the local display screen; or
