With respect to diseases such as cancer, an effective amount can be an amount sufficient to delay cancer onset or progression (e.g., reduce tumor growth rate and/or slow or prevent tumor angiogenesis, metastasis, or invasion of cancer cells into peripheral organs), reduce epithelioid cell numbers, induce cancer regression (e.g., tumor shrinkage or eradication), and/or prevent cancer development or delay recurrence. An effective amount may be administered in one or more administrations.
