selecting a block size via a processor of the communication system;
identifying, via the processor, a set of constellation points associated with a constellation diagram associated with a modulation scheme based on a plurality of bits;
generating, via the processor, a plurality of symbol blocks based on the set of constellation points, each symbol block of the plurality of symbol blocks having a size equal to the block size; including a subset of constellation points from the set of constellation points;
applying, via the processor, a unitary blade division multiplexing (UBDM) transform to each symbol block of the plurality of symbol blocks to generate a plurality of complex numbers;
and transmitting said plurality of complex numbers via said processor.

receiving a plurality of input bits via a processor of a communication system;
Via the processor, (1) by performing bit-to-symbol mapping based on the plurality of input bits and data associated with a constellation diagram associated with a modulation scheme to generate a plurality of symbols; (2) transforming the plurality of input bits into a plurality of complex numbers by applying a unitary blade division multiplexing (UBDM) transform to the plurality of symbols to generate a plurality of complex numbers;
transmitting the plurality of complex numbers for subsequent processing by using a predetermined modulation technique through the processor, the subsequent processing for transmitting a signal containing a representation of the complex number; and performing the modulation scheme.

A method of modulated agnostic unitary blade division multiplexing ( UBDM ) signal conversion, comprising:
receiving a plurality of input bits;
mapping each input bit of the plurality of input bits by using a bit-to-symbol map to identify a plurality of symbols;
grouping a subset of symbols from the plurality of symbols into a plurality of blocks each having a size N , where N is a natural number ;
applying a UBDM transform to each block of the plurality of blocks to generate a plurality of complex numbers;
transmitting the resulting complex number.
