a wear part including a cavity that receives the nose of the base;
a lock for securing the wear part to the base;
a hole in the nose that opens at the exterior surface to face the wear part or the lock when the base, wear part, and lock are assembled together;
a monitoring device within the bore and facing outwardly from the outer surface proximate to the wear part or the lock, the monitoring device detecting the presence and/or absence of the wear part or the lock; a monitoring device that transmits a wireless signal when the wear part or the lock is detected absent.

a wear assembly.

a proximity device on said wear part or said lock;
a monitoring device in a hole in the base for detecting the presence and/or absence of the proximity device and transmitting a radio signal when the proximity device is absent.
25. A wear assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the monitoring device detects temperature changes and sends a signal when the temperature changes reach a threshold level.
