Claims (65)

(ii) capable of specifically binding to a fecal antigen from a second tapeworm species, but specifically neither from the first tapeworm species nor from a third tapeworm species; and (iii) a second antibody that is capable of specifically binding to a fecal antigen from a third tapeworm species but also to a second antibody from the first tapeworm species. contacting a fecal sample from a mammal with one or more antibodies selected from the group consisting of a third antibody that is also incapable of specifically binding a fecal antigen from a tapeworm species; and (b) A method comprising detecting the presence or absence of antibody-stool antigen complexes, if any.

(b) forming an antibody-fecal antigen complex in the presence of the fecal antigen, if any, in the sample;
(c) detecting the presence or absence of antibody-fecal antigen complexes, if any; and (d) (i) if the first tapeworm antibody-fecal antigen complexes are present, the 1. tapeworm infection;
(ii) a second tapeworm infection, if a second tapeworm antibody-faecal antigen complex is present; and (iii) if a third tapeworm antibody-faecal antigen complex is present. diagnosing the mammal as having a third tapeworm infection; and (e) having the first tapeworm infection, the second tapeworm infection, or the third tapeworm infection, or a combination thereof. A method comprising administering an effective amount of one or more therapeutic agents to treat a mammal.
