Claims (7)

A near-eye display device for projecting an image to an observer's eye, comprising:

(a) an LOE (light-guiding optical element) having first and second major outer surfaces that are planar, parallel and edged;
(b) a support arrangement configured to support said LOE against an observer's head by means of said second major outer surface in facing relation to the observer's eyes;
(c) an image projector for projecting illumination corresponding to an image, said image projector being optically coupled to said LOE to introduce illumination into said LOE so that said first and first an image projector in which the LOE propagates internally by internal reflection at a major external surface of 2;
(d) an out-coupling arrangement deployed to couple illumination out of said LOE towards an observer's eye;
(e) extending along a majority of one of said edges of said LOE projecting out of the plane of said second major outer surface such that incident light rays from a range of grazing angles of said second major outer surface; a light-blocking baffle for blocking at least a portion of it, said baffle projecting in a direction toward the viewer's eye and forming an acute angle with said second major outer surface;
