従来のイヤホンマイクの配線は、イヤホンのコードとマイクロホンのコードが一体になっては配線される。このような配線方法においては、共通のグラウンド ラインが長くなり、線材の内部抵抗の影響でイヤホン電流のグラウンド電流による電位変化生じ、あたかもマイクロホンに音が入ったかのようにマイクロホンの出力が変化する。この変化がエコーとなって発生している。
