Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound having high quality and low viscosity as well as reduced residual halogen amount, by reacting a specific diamine with an excess epihalohydrin in the presence of water and subjecting the product to dehydrohalogenation and then subjecting the product to molecular distillation. CONSTITUTION:A diamine (e.g. m- or p-xylylenediamine) expressed by the formula (A is phenylene or cyclohexylene) is reacted with a stoichiometrically excess epihalohydrin (e.g. epichlorohydrin) in the presence of water to afford a polyhalohydrin compound, which is subjected to dehydrohalogenation and the resultant tetraglycidylamino compound is subjected to e.g. molecular distillation in high vacuum area of >=10<-3>mmHg or middle vacuum area of 10<-3>mmHg.
