Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a decrease in information capacity of an optical card and to enable a hologram recording part to be utilized as a recording region for keeping the information in secret by providing the hologram recording part to a part of the optical card.
CONSTITUTION: A recording medium 10 of this optical card is constituted by laminating a vapor deposited dye (or reflective metal) 13 as a layer for absorbing the scattering of a light beam, a chalcogen glass layer 12 as an absorptive layer for the light beam and a diffusive metal layer 12' for the chalcogen glass layer 12 by the projection of the light beam successively on a substrate 14. The optical card 10 is, therefore, capable of making high-density recording as a laser light recording medium as well as hologram recording. The pattern recording of holograms is thereby enabled in addition to the ordinary pattern formation of information tracks and, therefore, the recording capacity is increased and the hologram recording part is convenient for recording of the confidential information.
