Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable an instantaneous flow rate to be instantaneously displayed by measuring a time for which flow rate transmitting elements arranged on a pair of rotators rotating in proportion to the flow rate of a fluid flowing into a measuring chamber pass a detecting element fixedly mounted to a body. CONSTITUTION:Rotators 6 and 7 receiving a rotational torque rotate in the directions shown by arrows and discharge a fluid in a measuring chamber 2 through an outlet 4 in accordance with the rotation of the rotators 6 and 7. A flow rate is measured by multiplying a discharged quantity by the number of revolutions of the rotators 6 and 7. The revolutions of the rotators 6 and 7 are detected as pulse-like light signals generated from a light detector 12 that receives reflected light from a strip light reflector 11 that is fixedly attached to the end face of one rotator 5 so as to be flush with the end face. From a result thus obtained, a rotational speed at which the rotators 6 and 7 partially rotate at a constant area speed is obtained for a constant flow rate discharged at every half or one rotation in accordance with an angular velocity-phase curve. An obtained result is made to be the typical rotational speed at a half or one revolution and the flow rate is calculated by estimation.
