Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which has a high dropping point, is excellent in oxidation stability, heat stability and water resistance, and exhibits little consistency change irrespective of the long-term use at high temps. and little gelation during storage, and which comprises a gelling agent composed of a particular urea-urethane mixture, and a lubricant base oil. CONSTITUTION:A gelling agent (A) composed of a urea-urethane mixture consisting of 20-95mol.% diurea compd. of formula IV, 4-30mol.% urea- urethane compd. of formula V and 1-50mol.% diurethane compd. of formula VI wherein the ratio of amino group R2-NH- to alkoxy group R3-O- is in the range of 95-40/5-60, is produced by performing at 10-200 deg.C a reaction of a diisocyanate (a) of formula I (wherein R1 is a 6-15C divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group), a primary amine (b) of formula II (wherein R2 is cyclohexyl or a 7-12 C group derived from cyclohexyl), and a higher alcohol of formula II (wherein R3 is 8-20 C alkyl or alkenyl). 2-25wt.% component (A), a lubricant base oil (B) pref. having a viscosity of 2-40 cSt (210 deg.F) and optionally another gelling agent, an extreme pressure agent, an oil agent, etc. are mixed together.
