Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve propulsion efficiency by arranging a plurality of fins of such shape as deflecting water flow downwardly on the stern face only at such side as the tip of blades rises upon rotation of propeller in front of a screw propeller in plural stages while separating in longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:In a slim vessel provided with a single shaft screw propeller 4 at the stern section 1, a plurality of fins 7-a, 7-b, 8-a, 8-b forming a reaction fin are planted only on the stern sideface at such side (port side in the drawing) as the tip of propeller 4 blade rises when the propeller 4 is rotated in advancing direction in front of the screw propeller 4. The fins are shaped to deflect water flow downwardly. The fins 7-a, 7-b, 8-a, 8-b are arranged in plural stages while being separated longitudinally where the fins 8-a, 8-b in second stage are arranged lower than the fins 7-a, 7-b in first stage as a whole.
