CONSTITUTION:A liq. crystal compsn. comprises at least one compd. (a) of formula I (wherein X is R-, RO-, RCOO-, or ROCOO-; and R is an alkyl group) and at least one liq. crystal compd. (b) of formula II (wherein m is an integer; R' is an alkyl, alkoxy, or acyloxy group) wherein the chiral portion does not form racemic modification.
