Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a towing property on snow by forming the edge sides of each block which face lateral grooves and which extend in a direction intersecting to the acting direction of a tangential force which acts on a tire into a zigzag shape and forming each sipe which also extends in zigzag in the same direction as these edge sides into a semi-blind type. CONSTITUTION:Groups of longitudinal line blocks B are partitioned by circumferential grooves 1, 1a and lateral grooves 2a, 2b on a tread T. And, the edge sides which extend in a direction perpendicular to the acting direction L of a tangential force which acts on tire of each block 3a, 3b are formed into zigzag shape. Also, zigzag sipes 5 are cut in from the bay formed parts 4 of each block 3a, 3b being connected to the circumferential grooves 1 and/or 1a and an escape hole 6 is formed on the end of each sipe 5 to form a semi-blind sipe. And, the pitch P and amplitude W of the zigzag form of the edge side are made equal to the pitch Ps and amplitude Ws of that of the sipe 5 while both sipes 5 and edge sides are arranged in parallel. Due to this structure, the towing force on snow can be improved.
