Abstract

PURPOSE:To weaken the corrosiveness of a CO absorbing soln. without reducing the CO absorbing efficiency by regulating the amt. of water in the absorbing soln. which is a nonaq. soln. consisting essentially of hexametaphosphate amine, CuCl and an org. solvent to 0.1-1wt.%. CONSTITUTION:The amt. of water in a CO absorbing soln. consisting essentially of 3-6mol./l hexametaphosphate amine, 1-4mol./l CuCl and an org. solvent such as toluene is regulated to 0.1-1wt.%. When the amt. of water in the absorbing soln. exceeds 0.1wt.%, the corrosiveness of the soln. to stainless steel is weakened. In case of >1wt.%, CuCl precipitates and the CO absorbing rate is reduced.
