Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce a speed change shock by changing a line pressure in a hydraulic control circuit in the decreasing direction when a lockup clutch is placed in a non-opening connection force control condition by a lockup clutch connection force control means. CONSTITUTION:A decision means, which decides a lockup clutch 26 when it is placed in a non-opening connection force control condition by a lockup clutch connection force control means 41, and a line pressure control means 43, which changes a line pressure of a hydraulic control circuit in the decreasing direction when the lockup clutch is placed in the connection force controlled condition being based on this decision means, are provided in a control unit 10. Accordingly, when the lockup clutch 26 is placed in a lockup or slip condition, suppressing the torque doubling action in a turbine low speed region as compared with in the lockup clutch opening condition, because torque applied to a friction element 38 of a speed change mechanism decreases, the line pressure is decreased to a degree matching with the decrease torque. While even a load of an oil pump 32 is reduced.
