Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate engine starting by providing a starting nozzle port opening to the intake-air passage of a carburetor, a fuel starting pump adapted to suck fuel in a fuel tank and supply it to the starting nozzle port, and further an electric fuel motor for driving the starting fuel pump. CONSTITUTION:Upon starting an engine, the turning-on of a switch 57 makes an electric fuel motor 53 rotate so that a starting fuel pump 49 drives so as to eject fuel in a fuel tank 25 from a starting nozzle port 41 into an intake-air passage 18. At the same time, the drive of an electric starting motor 55 makes a crank shaft rotate so as to start the engine. With respect to the fuel ejected from the starting nozzle port 41, with the aid of a sensor 59 for sensing the temperature of a cylinder, a controller 61 gives a command to a control valve 63 so as to open or close the control valve 63 in response to the temperature, thereby supplying an appropriate amount of fuel. The start of the engine makes a diaphragm 33 vibrate according to fluctuation in the pressure of a crank case so that a pump 23 ejects the fuel in the fuel tank 25 from a main nozzle port 19 into the intake-air passage 18, thereby continuing the operation.
