Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely prevent the falling of a movable platen from occurring when a safety door is open by a method wherein the shifting of a locking plate, which is shiftable when the safety door is closed, from its state locking a locking rod to the direction to release said locking state is checked by a stopper plate when the safety door is open. CONSTITUTION:A locking rod 30 having annular grooves 29 is disposed in upright on the top surface of a movable platen 20 and insertedly passed through the hole 32 of a supporting platen 31. When a safety door is closed, a stopper plate 39 pivots upwards. However, a locking plate 35 is retreated by a spring 37 so as to engage with the locking rod 30 at the position of mold opening. By means of a mold clamping starting signal, a locking cylinder 33 is pressu rized, resulting in advancing the locking plate 35 so as to release the locking of the locking rod 30. When the safety door is open, the engagement of a cam plate 41 with the stopper plate 39 is released, resulting in pivoting the stopper plate 39 downwards by its own weight so as to enter its lower part in a groove 45, which is provided on the supporting platen 31 in corresponding to the tip of a projected piece 38 in order to check the forward motion of the locking plate 35.
