Abstract
PURPOSE:To widen the directional angel of double harmonic without altering the directional angle of a fundamental wave, by respectively arranging the radiation main axes of a plurality of multifrequency type vibration elements in a direction separating with respect to the radiation main axes of the whole of a transducer so as to provide an appropriate inclination. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic multifrequency type transducer is constituted by arranging a plurality of multifrequency type vibration elements 1 in an outer housing 2. The vibration elements 1 are arranged so that the radiation main axes (u) thereof are inclined in a direction separating with respect to the radiation main axis Z of the whole of the transducer. When the vibration elements 1 are vibrated by a fundamental wave, the effect of the inclination of the main axes (u) is reduced because of a long wavelength and a directional angle almost same to that obtained in a conventional example wherein the elements 1 are arranged in a planer state is obtained. At the time of vibration by double harmonic, the effect of the inclination of the main axes (u) appears and a directional angle widened as compared with a conventional one is obtained. By this method, a conventional defect that a sonic wave searching range due to the double harmonic becomes extremely narrow as a compared with that by the fundamental wave is eliminated.
