Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain data transfer between different planes in same semiconductor device in a short period by using a pallet decoder so as to designate plural address registers selectively. CONSTITUTION:Address bits A14, A15 via an address buffer 19 are decoded by a pallet decoder 1 and one of address registers 2-5 is selected based on the decode output. The content of the selected address register is outputted to the plane decoder 6, which decodes the supplied information to select one of planes 9-16. Then a row decoder 8 in the memory cell array constituting the selected plane activates a memory cell of the selected row address based on address bits A0-A7. Thus, the time required for data transfer between different planes in one and same semiconductor storage device is reduced.
