Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester fiber for reinforcing rubber that can inhibit its deterioration during the vulcanization of the rubber and increase its heat resistance by imparting and/or allowing to include a specific triazole thereto or therein. CONSTITUTION: A triazole represented by formula I [R is a group of formula II and formula III (X is H, a halogen, OH, a 1-18C alkyl, phenyl, alkoxy, phenoxy, sulfonamide, amino, acyloxy, acyl, SH), formula IV-formula VII; Y is H, a 1-18C alkyl, phenyl, pyridyl], typically 3-(N-5-chlorosalicyloyl)amino-1,2,4 triazole or the like is, for example, dispersed in water and applied to the polyester fiber during the extrusion spinning or drawing, preferably in an amount of 0.1-50 wt.% based on the twisted cords. The triazole additives are applied to the fiber or allowed to include in the fiber, thus the fiber is inhibited from deterioration and is very useful as a rubberreinforcing material.
