Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber, constituted of a special fluorescent dye or pigment and transparent high polymer, capable of efficiently transmitting incident light effectively taken in from the side of the fiber to end or bent parts and emitting light and producible at a low cost with excellent productivity. CONSTITUTION:The aimed fiber obtained by using (A) a fluorescent dye or pigment having the maximum absorption wavelength (I0max) and the maximum emission wavelength (Imax) satisfying the formulas I-I0>=10nm and 380 nm<=I<=800nm and (B) a transparent high polymer having >=1.45 refractive index and >=50% transmittance as constituent components. Furthermore, a perylene derivative expressed by the formula (R1 is H, 1-10C alkoxy, etc.; R2 is H, halogen, etc.; n is 4-5) is preferably used as the component (A), which is preferably homogeneously blended with the component (B) by a method for diluting master chips, etc.
