PURPOSE:To obtain a heat storage apparatus low in heat dissipation during heat storage and large in heat dissipation during heat generation, by encasing a heat-generating body composed of a plurality of connected plates each consisting of a heat storage material covered with a well heat-conductive material in a freely openable heat-insulating case in a freely mountable and demountable manner. CONSTITUTION:A heat storage body 1 is obtained by connecting a plurality of plates each consisting of a heat storage material 5 such as water or paraffin covered with a good heat-conductive material 4 such as Cu or Al at their ends and folding the connected plates in such a manner that the heating surface 1a of a plate is superposed upon the heating surface of the adjacent plate. This heat storage body 1 is encased in a heat-insulating material 6 having a freely openable door 2a. A heating source 3 is provided in the space between the heat storage body 1 and the case 2, part of one end plate of the heat storage body 1 is connected to the inside wall 2b, and part of the other end is connected to the inside wall 2c of the door 2a.
