多気筒エンジン本体に介装し、触媒コンバータを
その2つの排気ガス入口が排気マニホールドの2
つの排出口に接続するように連結し、さらに、触
媒コンバータを、内部に収納した触媒の上流及び
下流を仕切板で分割することにより排気ガス入口
に臨む2つの上流側分室、及び、排気ガス入口に
対応した2つの排気ガス出口に臨む2つの下流側
分室に区切つた排気装置において、前記触媒コン
バータの触媒の上流に位置する仕切板に切欠部を
形成し、この切欠部付近の空間に、エンジンの燃
焼状態を検出するエンジン燃焼状態検出センサを
備えたことを特徴とする排気装置。 (2) エンジン燃焼状態検出センサは酸素濃度セ
ンサであることを特徴とする実用新案登録請求の
