Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of bridging portions at weaking lines during the production of caps and facilitate the breakage of the same at similar positions when a cap is disconnected by forming a circumferentially extending groove on the external surface of a pilferage-proof base portion at least at a position corresponding to the position of a locking means. CONSTITUTION:A pilferage-proof base portion 8 is connected to a main part 7 via a plurality of bridging portions 10. An annular groove 17 is formed in the external surface (external circumferential surface) of the base portion 8, while an annular projecting looking means 13 is formed on the internal circumferential surface thereof. When it is disconnected from a core 21 disposed inside the cap main body 1, the cap main body 1 is forcibly disconnected by moving a stripper plate 20 disposed on the underside of the pilferage-proof base portion 8 in the direction shown by the arrow A. In this condition, the base portion 8 is allowed to deform greatly outwardly due to the provision of the annular groove 17, thus making it possible to disconnect the locking means 13 from the recessed portion 22 formed in the core 21.
