Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a synthetic resin cap capable of being easily torn open and free form and deformation or damage when remounted by providing a constricted portion in at least one of bridging portions where the cross-sectional area thereof is made smaller than the maximum cross-sectional area of the other non-constricted bridging portions relative to the direction in which the cap is mounted or removed. CONSTITUTION:A cap main body 1 comprises a circular top wall 2, a cylindrical skirt wall 3 extending vertically downwardly from the circumference of the top wall 2 and a pilferage- proof base portion 8. A weaking line 6 per comprises a plurality (six) of circumferentially extending slits 9 which are circumferentially spaced away from each other and a plurality (six) of bridging portions 10a interposed between the slits 9, and the pilferage-proof base portion 8 is connected to the main part 7 of the skirt wall 3 via the plurality of bridging portions 10a. A constricted portions 19 is formed at each bridging portion 10a in such a manner that the cross-section (cross-sectional area) thereof suitably decreases from the top end toward the bottom end thereof in a gradual fashion. Thus, troubles such as enexpected deformation or the like can be avoided even when compressional force is applied thereto, and the cap is desirably torn off at the constricted portion 19 since the stress is designed to be concentrated thereto once rotational tensile force is applied to the cap in an attempt to tear it open.
