Abstract

PURPOSE:To obviate the need for adjustment of the pressure applied to an article by a suction head avoiding an excessive force by attaching a label attracted to the lower surface of a suction head onto the article using a lifting portion which moves downward by its own weight. CONSTITUTION:An article 28 delivered to a predetermined position below a suction head 31 is sensed by detection means and an operation signal is sent to a motor 14 for driving a sprocket 15 on the driven side in the direction of the arrow A, thereby moving downwards a roller 20. When reaching a position D, a roller 20 moves from a position below a projecting portion 10a to an exterior position, whereby a lifting unit 47 on the side of the projecting portion 10a moves downwards by its own weight. The suction head 31 moves downwards and stops with its lower surface in contact with the upper surface of the article 28. During this time, a label 27 attracted to the lower surface thereof is pressed and attached onto the upper surface of the article 28 under the weight of the lifting unit 47.
