Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the growth of bacteria in the course of cooling and perform an easy and rapid inspection with a simple yet highly efficient apparatus by passing through a low temperature environment a continuous strip-like package containing the contents for cooling, and rolling under pressure and simultaneously inspecting the same for both the the progress of cooling effect of the contents and improper sealings at the heat sealed portions. CONSTITUTION:A rolling device 2 consists of a predetermined number of rollers 2a disposed within an air-conditioned chamber 1 for carrying a continuous strip-like package (a) and a pair of auxiliary rollers 3 for applying rolling pressure to the continuous strip-like package (a) by engagement against the rollers 2a with a predetermined pressure. The continuous strip-like package (a) introduced into the air-conditioned chamber 1 through tension rollers 6 is subjected to rolling pressure by the rolling device 2 in the air-conditioned chamber 1, while undergoing a simultaneous inspection for the cooling effect and the heat releasing action affected by the movement and agitation of the contents and for the improper sealings at a heat sealed portions 12 during the traveling of the package to an exit side, whereby the package is cooled rapidly to a predetermined temperature and removed from the air- conditioned chamber 1. The strip-like package is then cut by cutting means at its heat sealed portion 12 into individual packages a'' which are transferred for later process.
