Abstract

CONSTITUTION:At least either the heating preset temperature set by a first heating means 26 which heats mainly the center part in an axial direction of the upper fixing roller 1 of a pair f fixing rollers 1 and 2 or the heating preset temperature set by a second heating means 31 which heats mainly both end parts in the axial direction is set higher than that set by both heating means 26 and 31 in the copying operation. And after heating by respective heating preset temperature, the temperature is switched to the heating preset temperature in the copying operation by a signal to start the copying operation. In such a way, it is possible to prevent picture quality from being lowered due to the generation of nonuniformity in the glossiness of an image to be fixed and to prevent the low temperature offset at a low temperature part from being generated.
