Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress residual inductance and to measure a surge voltage with high accuracy by arranging the onward path between a measurement terminal and a low-voltage capacitor and the return path between the low-voltage capacitor and a ground point coaxially. CONSTITUTION:A signal voltage led out of the measurement terminal 101 is applied to the low-voltage capacitor 116 (onward path) through a contactor 102 and a shaft 103 and then applied to a spacer metal fitting 112 (return path) as the ground point through couplings 110, 111, and 109. In this case, the onward and return paths are arranged coaxially and the current directions of the onward and return paths are opposite, so pieces of a magnetic flux cancel each other and a little residual inductance is generated. On the other hand inductance generated by the lead wires of the capacitor 116 is reduced to 1/n on the whole because (n) capacitors 117 are connected in parallel and it is therefore considered that (n) inductances of lead wires of the capacitors 117 are connected in parallel. Thus, the residual inductance is suppressed and the surge voltage is measured with high accuracy.
