Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid deformation due to pressure applied between a belt and a pulley by forming a notch hole on a friction piece of the belt to mount the belt on a chain link through the notch hole. CONSTITUTION:A closed notch hole 12 is formed in the center of a trapezoidal friction piece 8 of a chain-type steel belt, which is brought into frictional contact with a pulley, and comb-like grooves and teeth are formed on the upper and lower sides of the notch hole 12. On the other hand, notch grooves 6, 7 are provided in each center of the upper and lower sides of a link plate which is outermost at the time of assembling, tooth K portions of the notch hole 12 are engaged with the notch grooves 6, 7, and the comb-like grooves 9 are engaged with the link plate having no notch groove. Accordingly, as the friction piece 8 is mounted on the link plate, the belt is kept from being deformed by pressure applied between the belt and the pulley.
