Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a cataplasm for cold having antitussive and expectorant action, capable of administering a fixed dose, having excellent cooling effect and durability free from an unpleasant feeling after embrocation and troublesome use, by blending a plaster comprising a water-soluble high polymer with a crude drug component for cold as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:For example, a plaster comprising a water-soluble high polymer such as polyacrylic acid or sodium polyacrylate is blended with a crude drug component such as fennel oil, fruit oil, valerian oil, cork tree bark, Pruni cortex or Puerariae radix. The amount of the high polymer used is preferably 2-10wt.% based on the total amount of the plaster. Camphor or menthol is preferably used as a volatile component in the active ingredient and a component blended with tincture of german chamomile is especially preferable as a nonvolatile component.
