Abstract

PURPOSE:To generate efficient working information by performing pattern description conversion from a three-dimensional polyhedral shape to an expression form consisting of combination between polygons perpendicular to the working direction and their working depth. CONSTITUTION:An edge grouping processing part 1 groups edges perpendicular to the working direction at every working depth. A polygon detection processing part 2 extracts edge groups constituting polygons out of individual edge groups generated by the processing part 1. A rectangle division processing part 3 divides polygons extracted by the processing part 2 into combinations of rectangles. A classification relation extracting part 4 uses rectangle expressions of polygons obtained by the processing part 3 to extract shape classifications of polygons and relations between polygons. A polygon reconstituting part 5 reconstitutes a working graphic based on the classification information and the relation information of polygons extracted by the extracting part 4. Thus, graphic description conversion from the three-dimensional polyhedron to the expression form consisting of combinations between polygons perpendicular to the working direction and their depth.
