CONSTITUTION:Blowing holes 12 are arranged at the bottom part in the furnace body 11 of the smelting reduction furnace to execute combustion of carbonic material and reduction of iron ore and the exhaust hole 15 is arranged at the upper side part in the furnace body 11, to exhaust the generated gas. Further, at the lower part of the exhaust hole 15 at the position corresponding to the position laying the slag layer in the furnace body 11, the side part blowing holes 13, 14 are arranged both to slant upward. By this constitution, the pure oxygen is blown from the blowing hole 13 and the generated gas is burnt to form a secondary combustion zone and the exhaust gas (CO, CO2, etc.,) is blown from the blowing hole 14, to retain the slag to the secondary combustion zone as fine particle.
