Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition capable of imparting lubricity to a coating film when compounded to a paint, having excellent storage stability of the composition and suitable for the coating of outer surface of a metallic can, etc., by reacting a wax having functional group with a polymer for paint and dispersing the reaction product in water in the presence of a dispersion assistant. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by reacting (A) a polyolefin wax having carboxyl group or hydroxyl group [preferably oxidized polyethylene or an ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer] or a natural wax (preferably carnauba wax or montan wax) with (B) a coating polymer having functional group reactive with carboxyl group or hydroxyl group and dispersing the reaction product in water in the presence of a dispersion assistant. The amount of the dispersion assistant is preferably 1-40pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the composition containing the reaction product.
