Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently separate an unburned carbon-component from raw material coal ash by imparting microvibration to the coal ash in a semi-fluidized state within a fluidized bed body of a batch type or continuous type to cause the uneven distribution of the particles varying in densities in the raw material coal ash. CONSTITUTION: A microvibration is imparted to the raw material coal ash held in the semi-fluidized state within the fluidized bed body of the batch type or continuous type to cause the uneven distribution of the particles varying in the densities in the raw material coal ash, by which the unburned carbon- component in the coal ash is separated. The raw material coal ash is recommended to be previously divided to groups having suitable grain size ranges and the method described above is recommended to be applied to each of these groups in order to efficiently execute the method. As a result, the uneven distribution by the grain size differences is suppressed within the respective groups and the uneven distribution of the coal ash by sp. gr. is dominant. The ratio between the largest particle size and the smallest particles within certain one group is preferably kept within 5 for the purpose.
