PURPOSE:To provide a prescribed tension in a magnetic tape only by controlling a feeder side reel by providing a means for increasing the drawing speed of the magnetic tape at an initial time and a means for reducing the drawing speed after the drawing speed reaches a prescribed speed. CONSTITUTION:A cam groove 10 formed in a control cam 6 for driving an arm gear 9 is changed in the degree of a curvature as codes A, B, C, D for every part. The arm gear 9 is not driven from an end to an A point and the driving speed of the gear 9 is raised from the A point to the B point at a certain rate. An internal bending angle is lightened from the B point to the C point and the speed of the gear 9 is controlled so as to make the tape drawing speed constant. The degree of the bending is further lightened from the C point to the D point and the driving speed of the gear 9 is reduced at a prescribed rate. The change of the driving speed of the gear 9 is transferred to pole bases 15, 15' to control the speed.
