Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the span of a transmission shaft by supporting the thrust loads applied to a pump swash plate from a group of pump plungers and to a motor swash plate from a group of motor plungers with a transmission case. CONSTITUTION:While a hydraulic pump P and a hydraulic motor M are in operation, thrust loads in opposite directions are applied to a pump swash plate 10 from a group of pump plungers 9, 9... and to a motor swash plate 20 from a group of motor plungers 19, 19... respectively. The thrust load applied to the pump swash plate 10 is supported by a transmission case 4 via a thrust roller bearing and an input member 5. The thrust load applied to the motor swash plate 20 is supported by the transmission case 4 via a thrust roller bearing 21, a swash plate holder 22, and a swash plate anchor 23. No portion supporting the thrust load is thereby required on a transmission shaft 25, and the span of the transmission shaft 25 can be shortened so much.
