Abstract

PURPOSE:To narrow a bearing space as well as to reduce the thickness and size of the whole body by applying preload to a ball bearing with resiliency of a magnet member, installing a conductive magnetic fluid in a between the magnet member and a shaft, and securing electric conductivity of a housing and the shaft. CONSTITUTION:Ring seat type magnet members 5, 5 magnetized in the axial direction are built in both opposite ends of ball bearings 3, 4, and magnetic poles on the opposed surfaces are made into the same magnetic pole. Consequently, these poles produce resiliency to each other, acting on an outer ring, thus preload can be applied to both ball bearing 3, 4. A magnetic path to be magnetized in the radial direction and shown in a dotted line is formed even in an inner circumference of the magnet member 5 being opposed to a turning shaft 1, and thereby a conductive magnetic fluid 17 is holdable in a clearance. Consequently, a bearing space can be sharply narrowed as compared with such one as using the conventional coil spring. In addition, there is unnecessary to install a contact earth, and since a conductive structure is constituted in respective insides of these ball bearing 3, 4, the whole device is thinned and miniaturized and, whet is more, its durability is improvable.
