The A component is allowed to react with one or both of the B components shown by formulas I and II [R1 is a 1-20C alkyl group and the residue of an aromatic carboxylic acid, R2 is a phenyl group, R3 is the residue of a 2-6C acid anhydride, R4 is a phenyl group, etc., R5 is 1-18C alkyl group, R6 is a 1-18C saturated aliphatic residue, etc., and (n) and (m) are an integer of 1-100], and the pigment dispersant is prepared from the obtained product.
