Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare the title polymer having a high stereoregularity efficiently and economically, by polymerizing acrylonitrile in the presence of a product of contact consisting of an Al compd. such as NaAlH4, an Mg compd. such as diethylmagnesium and a Ti compd. such as tetraalkoxytitanium. CONSTITUTION:1mol. of an Al compd. of formula I (where M is Li or Na; R<1> is H, alkyl or alkoxy) (e.g., NaAlH4), 0.1-10mol. of an Mg compd. of formula II or III (where R<2> is (cyclo) alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or an alkali, and two R<2> groups may be mutually bonded to form a heterocyclic ring with the N atom to which they are bonded ) (e.g., diethylmagnesium) and a Ti compd. of formula IV or V (where R<3> is R<2>; Cp is cyclopentadienyl; X is a halogen) (e.g., tetrabutoxytitanium) are brought into contact with each other in a suitable org. solvent (e.g., toluene) at 20 deg.C or higher for 10min to give a catalyst component. 10-200mol. of acrylonitrile is polymerized in the presence of 1mol. of the catalyst component at -50-100 deg.C to give a highly stereoregular acrylonitrile polymer having an isotactic fraction of at least 35% and an MW of at least 10,000.
