Abstract

PURPOSE:To set the steering characteristic of rear wheels as desired by the set of cam lines by transmitting the motion of an interlocked shaft from the front wheel steering system over to the rear wheel steering system via a cam mechanism having a plurality of cam lines with different output displacement characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A cam device 8 is equipped with a drum 80 with cam groove mounted at the end of an interlocked shaft 7 and with a cam follower lever 84 to move a drag link 9. The periphery of this cam-grooved drum 80 is in complex structure consisting of a base 81 and a slide 82. The base 81 is fixed to the interlocked shaft 7 while the slide 82 is detained with the base 81 by means of a dovetailed guide 83, wherein the slide 82 rotates as in a single piece with the base 81 and is slidable in the axial direction of the base 81. Cylindrical pieces 82a, 82b are provided with three cam grooves A1-A3, B1-B3, and the neutral part 81a of the base 81 is provided with a cam groove C. By this cam groove C, the cam groove A is put in line with the one B.
