Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a natural speaking state and to reduce time and effort by reading out the centroid pattern of a cluster including a corresponding phoneme environment from plural centroid patterns of each cluster based upon an input phoneme symbol string. CONSTITUTION: In a rule synthesizing system 2, the phoneme symbol. string of a voice to be synthesized and a pitch frequency pattern corresponding to the height of the voice are inputted to a main control part 7, the pitch frequency pattern is transferred to a driving sound source generating processing part 8 and the phoneme symbol string is transferred to a synthetic unit selecting processing part 9. The processing part 9 retrieves a synthetic unit having a phoneme environment label most fitted to the inputted phoneme symbol string from a synthetic unit phoneme environment storing part 5 and reads out a phoneme parameter for the synthetic unit sequence from a synthetic unit phoneme information storing part 6. A synthetic unit connecting processing part 10 connects these data, generates and outputs a phoneme feature parameter sequence to a voice synthesis part 11 and transfers voiced/voiceless information to the processing part 8. Consequently the continuous time of phonemes is a natural state, the method can easily be handled and a synthetic sound is also natural.
