Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely and effectively reduce the quantity of curl of a recording member caused by passing through a heat fixing device by constituting a device of a fixing device, a warmth adding means and a quantity of flow control means. CONSTITUTION:Warmth is added to the back surface of the recording member P opposed to a surface where a toner image is fixed by heat so as to increase the dehydration of the back surface in a short time and difference of dehydrat ing time on the surface and the back surface is made small. The added quantity of flow of the warmth is adjusted by the quantity of flow control means 60 possessing a sensor which detects the thickness of the recording member P. Namely, when the recording member whose thickness is detected is thin, the quantity of warmth is adjusted so that small quantity of it is added and when said member P is thick, it is controlled so that the quantity of flow of the warmth becomes large. Thus, the quantity of curl of the recording medium caused by passing through the heat fixing device can be surely reduced even under the circumstances of high humidity.
