Abstract
PURPOSE:To discriminate the maturity degree of vegetable fruits by constituting the titled apparatus in such a manner that a change of the rind can be detected as a change in press fitting between a face to be first pressed to the rind and a face to be next pressed thereto. CONSTITUTION:A core 3 is passed onto the center of a frame 9 which forms the circular cylindrical outside shape of an inspecting part 2 and both end of the core 3 projects atop an arc-shaped base 6 and the frame 9. The front end face 4 to be first pressed to, for example, a kiwi fruit 1 exists at the bottom end of the core 3. A spring 5 is engaged with this core 3 and is so sprung by the soft repulsive force as to project from the base 6. The inspecting part 2 can be moved vertically when a slider 11 provided to said part 2 slides on a perpendicularly provided rail 12. The rind of the kiwi fruit 1 lifts the core 3 and lifts the entire part of a measuring instrument 2 when the kiwi fruit imposed on a receiving tray 7 ascends and if the rind thereof is hard. The core 3 wedges into the kiwi fruit 1 and lifts the entire part of the measuring instrument 2 in this state if the rind is soft. This movement is sensed by a proximity sensor 15 and sensor 17 and is converted to an electric signal, by which the maturity degree is discriminated.
